The Zipper Model
This project was for a club activity at UNLV. The club was Themed Entertainment Association, and the event was the Ride Engineering Competition.
Over the course of 3 months I single handedly designed this ride. Some small parts were assembled by group, but the majority was solitary.
Design
The core requirements was that the ride had to fit ‘passengers’ that were jolly rancher chews. They had to rotate, lift, and reach 2G of acceleration while being safely secured inside of the seats.
The other requirement was that the ride had to fit inside of a smaller ‘traveling envelope’ and then set up in a larger operational footprint.
I did the bulk of the initial design on paper and then used CorelDraw to design all the vectors for laser cutting.
Make it stand out
It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
